TBM Dawn to Dusk 2005 12 Hour Enduro Now in it's 4th year this event is becoming a fixture and highly anticipated Enduro. Run at Glyn Neath in Wales it is a long drive for the Scots lads but usually brings home a few trophies for us. The course is about 18 miles of tracks, hills and some bogs that proved fairly testing - particularly when wet. This year is rained for the junior race on the Saturday but then dried up for the Sunday although the ground was wet in places. Richard Hay continued his reign as the King of the Ironmen and finished in 4th overall against some very talented opposition in the shape of Paul Whibley and Andrew Cripps. He even had a pit stop to get some braces as he was losing weight as the event went on - an unusual request for pit crew Derek little to sort out ! Dave Ramsay and Colin Macdonald had a day long battle before finishing together on 11 laps - despite a broken chain and helping wayward riders out of ditches. Still smiling at the end of the day the rivalry spurred them on. Stuart Walker and Gordon Macdonald also tried Ironman this year and put in 6 hard laps - thoroughly enjoying the event and coming back next year. Charlie Mackenzie suffered severe skin loss (don't ask where!) and put in a painful 8 laps to come in 3rd in the Sportsman category. Swearing each year never to do it again - next year looks promising as he needs to get back up to double figures. The Sportsmen winners from 04 were back - TSL Oban Chris Hamill, Robert Sinclair and Shaun Sinclair were narrowly pushed into 2nd place by the Magic Muppets . Team Na Tri Caraidean ( The three amigos ) of Paul Carlyle, Mike Robertson and Pete Gray of Wilderness Wheels Morocco managed 11 laps and felt like they could do more. Two man teams next year ? Always a challenge - particularly as you need to be on the line at 6:30 AM it is a very rewarding race - just hope it stays dry next year More pictures are available from www.foto-x.co.uk
