SACU / ELRAT Training Day 21st May 2006 The ELRAT club, through the efforts of Craig White and Mark White ( AKA Power Rangers) provided an excellent days training in a private forest near Lanark. With a dry day and 25 riders keen to learn the instructors set off to find some testing terrain. We are very lucky to have the services of the top riders in Scotland and the UK to act as trainers. Richard Hay and Derek Little travelled all the way down from Aberdeen to hold the day - with Murray Thomson and Dougal Walker coming from the Lothians. All champions with many years of riding and training experience - giving their services for free to develop the next generation of riders. Many thanks to them. The forest was a mixture of mud and rocks - with some heather , more mud - a bit more mud and sticks and rocks. Not an easy day but one that was ideal for training riders to deal with courses they may meet in the future. Several of the riders were new to the sport - and have found out what the sport is all about - all seemed keen to get their first event under way after the days tuition - nothing they meet will be as bad as this !!. With the trainers giving tips on the correct way to get a bike out of a rut, how to get the correct line through a special test and how to ride over sticks - it was a varied days training. Thanks to all the riders who attended - coming from as far afield as Oban, Aberdeen and Cumbria. See you all on the start line !!
