Allyn Scotland
wins Incident Packed Melville Hare and Hound
Incredibly it was
another beautiful day at Lochhouses Farm for the third round of
the SACU Metzeler Melville Hare and Hound Scottish Championship
on Sunday. All five races at this incredible venue have been
blessed with superb weather throughout the winter months. The
ground was frozen when the riders arrived but by the time the
race began at 11.00am the track was in perfect condition for the
130 riders and there was not a cloud in the sky.
Expert rider Allyn
Scotland took the holeshot award sponsored by Stuart Tait’s
EcosseMX.com although he was passed by double Scottish Champion
Ricky Mair on the second lap. Read more

Team Scotland Report
Riders were greeting
with a cold but sunny morning at lochhouses on sunday. This made
for a fantastic days racing, the track was well set out and held
up very well throughout the day. Motocross Scotland had 3 riders
entered in the event Allyn Scotland, Steven Currie Jnr and Ross
Hamilton.
The race started at
11 am with the experts away first. Allyn took the holeshot with
young stevie following close behind. As the riders rounded the
first turn there was some confusion as the tabe that was being
used to mark the holeshot line had been blown up by the wind and
looked as if the track was being diverted. All the riders braked
hard looking for a turn off that wasn't there. Allyn lead the
first lap and had a small lead over Ricky Mair who had worked
his way through the pack after a bad start. Half way throught
the second lap, Allyn started to suffer from serious arm pump
problems. This forced him to slow his pace considerably and had
dropped back to 6th after the second lap. Young Stevie Currie
had caught and passed Allyn and was in pursuit of Ricky who was
slowly pulling away at the front. Allyn continued to battle with
his arm pump issues until his first pit stop. He knew he had his
work cut out if he was going to catch back up with the rest of
th experts. He set about putting in some fast laps, passing the
5 expert riders in front of him in the same lap and set about
trying to close the gap on Ricky. Unfortunatley Ricky had bike
problems and had to retire. Towards the end of the race Stevie
was starting to tire and lost a place to Drew Harvey. Allyn had
a sizeable lead with 3 laps to go, having mad a mistake on his
fueling his pit crew had to call him in for extra fuel. After
leaving the pits he noticed his bike was making a strange noise
and the bike was handleing differently, this was due to his
shock spring coming loose. He decided to play it safe as he had
a sizeable lead and nurse the bike for the remaning laps. With
Drew riding hard he managed to close the gap to wothing 10
seconds at the end. Ross Hamilton had an eventful day, getting a
bad start he slowly worked his way through the Clubman up to 3rd
place. He had a massive crash, he was sligtly dazed and confused
when he got back to his feet and had lost a number of places.
Losing his front mudguard in the crash, Ross was finding it
difficult to ride at his usual pace. Digging deep he worked
himself back up to 4th place at the finish. All in all a good
outing for the team and hope that we can continue the results
into the next round of the championship. Stevie Currie Jnr is
now 2 points in front of Drew Havey in the expert Championship.
Ross Hamilton is currently 2nd in the clubman championship.
