A fantastic new
track by the new Easter Ross club. Starting with a fast blast
round a sandy MX course with some great jumps - then across
country - over fences - through some tidal areas then into "THE
BOG". Kept open for an hour until the marshalls couldn't even
lift the bikes out - it was cut out - but lead onto "THE DITCH"
easy if you made it across first time - then back across the mud
hole - checking for hippos - and back to the pits. Oh and not
forgetting the tire ramp and did I mention the logs as well.
An interesting and
challenging new course - and well worth the trip up to Tain.
(And the burger van was awesome!)
Well done to Jai and
the crew for a great first event.
Experts won by Ricky
Mair - flying round the track on his full time return to Enduros.
David Vass and Ryan Bruce 2 laps down. Fraser Norrie was
charging in 2nd all day on his new Husky 125 and doing some
massive jumps on the MX track - unfortunately his carb came
loose on the last lap with dirt getting in the the engine
forcing him to stop.
In the over 40's
Mark Ritchie travelled all the way up from Newcastle and beat
Colin Bryan - with both riders looking somewhat shattered at the
end of the race.
D Reid put in a fine
performance to beat Steven Currie Jnr and D Whittaker in the
Clubman class.
Dean Barr moved up to 'B' as
Sportsman Champ and wins his first race in the Clubman 'B' taking the
win from Hamish Oag and P Nixon.
In the Sportsman D Mackay pushed N Patton and
C Lang and managed to get 2 laps out in front. Impressive on the
day. Tracy Currie also got a good finish and now ties Phil Hewitt
for the ELRAT club Championship points lead. Way to go!
