A great event enjoyed by all the riders - this was the first event where a swimming certificate was not needed at scrutineering. Dry to start with on the first 2 laps the inevitable rain arrived later and caused the course to become very slippy and rutted in parts. However the rest of the course was flowing in parts and some of the new sections were pretty fast.

Slack times at the checks meant most riders went clean - however the tight check on lap 3 caught out quite a few of the clubmen. The rest on the other laps was most welcome.

The test was run along the same track as previously with a few new chicanes thrown in. Very fast - it was a course for the brave who dared to hold the throttle open. The only tricky part being near the start round an awkward tree stump and a steep downhill.

The Expert class was won by Derek Little from Nicky Beavitt by only 3 seconds over 4 tests. A real battle developing at the top of the class. Similarly in the Clubmen Ricky Mair pipped Stephen Scott by only 5 seconds over the 4 tests. Ricky is one of the young and developing riders and looks good for the future. Joe Gilroy continued his own charge and posted 3rd.

One of the most commented riders was P Perkins on the monster CCM 640. He managed to get in a good lap on this machine and was admired for keeping going despite the tough going. Good on you mate !

There was also a Trials bike section in this event with 3 entrants. Won by N Gibson from Gordon Williamson - also present was the secretary of the Scottish Six Day Trial - John Moffat - on a 250 Yam - proving that the organisers can still ride, even if he usually gets stuck behind a desk at events.

A most enjoyable event where all the riders kept moving on course with no real bogs or monster ruts. Keep up the good work.

Thanks to John Little and Gilbert Ray for all their hard work - it was really worth it. Same again next year please.
