2008 Championship ENDURO Round 8 ELRAT MCC Griffin Enduro 7th Sept 2008 Another dry day in the woods ( at least on the surface of the ground) for the 120 riders who started the Griffin Enduro near Aberfeldy. With a long lap planned by Atholl Cameron to take in course used in previous years and some new ground it was a long day. With planned wind farm developments in the neat future he decided to make the most of the course available - which involved some big bridges across rivers and bogs.On the day most of the course held up well but a couple of bits cut up with some bikes being towed out. The cross country test was a long and rock strewn course with a bog to finish with. Harder than some parts of the course riders still managed to finish within seconds of each other - showing the high standard of riding. Some consistent riding by Murray Thomson gave him the win - he enjoys a course where it gets tough. Derek Little was just pipped fro 2nd with improving rider Cloin Bryan in 3rd place in the Experts Sean Wooley won the Over 40's just ahead of trials rider Gavin Johnston in 2nd and ever present Alex Kirk in 3rd. In the Clubmen Fraser Norrie continued his winning form to take first place ahead of Duncan McCormick on the big KTM and title rival Tim Sleigh in 3rd. In Clubman 'B' Kenny Donaldson took the win by only 1 second over the day from Alastair Crockett . Calum Hayes continued his consistent form with a solid 3rd place. Ross McCulloch took the win from the battling Alister Watson . With their first test to count (hopefully the course was clearer by the ....) it was a tricky start to the day - but the Sportsman still posted some fast times Thanks to Atholl for another great course - hopefully we will be back next year.
