Frazer 9th at 30th Weston Beach Race

Turriff lad Frazer Norrie travelled the long road to Weston-Super-Mare at the weekend to compete in the 30th anniversary RHL beach race for the first time as an adult aboard his KTM 300.

Although Frazer has enjoyed a second and third place in the 85cc classes some years ago the 20 year old knew that this time it would be a different race altogether with a strong entry of 500 riders.

After much preparations Sunday afternoon came and the race began. As the first lap was completed Frazer came round in 11th place making his intensions clear. After a collision with another rider on lap three Frazer lost his seat and his air box cover, he pushed on without the seat for an hour until it was recovered to the pits by a very energetic pit crew Graham Barron and David Ramsay. Frazer had lost a few places during the hour but got back on the case with the seat re-fitted. After the 3 hours Frazer finished in 9th place behind 1st Jeffery Herlings 2nd Shaun Simpson 3rd Ken De Dycker 4th Nathan Watson 5th Brad Anderson 6th Ryan Staveley 7th Ben Watson 8th Tom Healey.

Frazer would like to thank his sponsors for their support, Dyce Carriers, Boyd Hydraulics, Craigston Tyres and Dennis Irvine Superbikes.

2012 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship enjoys sun-baked finale…

Perfect racing conditions at Canada Height ensures two days of action packed racing as Jordan Rose secures the coveted Elite title

With the majority of Britain under attack from unseasonably bad summer weather the final stop of the 2012 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship enjoyed glorious sunshine, which ensured perfect racing conditions during both days of the hotly contested event.

Making his first appearance in the championship Husqvarna's factory team rider Matti Seistola wasted little time in adapting to the sprint enduro racing format. Although slowed by numerous mistakes during the opening two laps at round nine, Seistola soon found his pace and topped the final four special tests to claim a comfortable win. At round ten, the Husqvarna rider completed a mistake free day to secure victory at the final round of the season.

Le Touquet Beach Race  2012

Gavin Johnston, Neil Flockhart, Les Winthrop, Ricky Mair & Alex Johnston (Gavin's son ) who is in the youths race on the Saturday are having a go this year. Best of luck boys.

A wee run down on what happened at the weekend from Roving reporter Bri Hill.

We arrived Friday morning for signing on and get camp set up . its was  about 3hr at least to get yir bike through all the stages to get it in the park ferme - 4 all day freezing .
At night it was well down - 8 .
Saturday moring was youth race for Gavs son Alex . but with the bike standing all night outside many bike would,nt start , they got it going , but he was last away for the ride through the streets to the beach . He went down hard in the streets due to the ice .so that was him off to hospital . Just at lot of road rash .So there was no need to wash that bike then .
Sunday moring We got up to 3 to 4 inches off fresh snow .
So the ride was a bit hairy through the streets .
Neil Flockhart was in top 100 for the first time past the pits , but the bike seized on the way back so that was him oot .
Scott gordon was in the pit first for a stop . Les winthrop went for the extra lap and run out off petrol 100 yrds form pitts . small bottle off petol on pocket then off again .Ricky Mairs was going steady apart from the loose handel bars that were sorted when he came in .
morton Hanneh run out off petrol but he pushed his bike back to the pitts , and was away again .
.Stuart boyce  and Lioyd Scott were just in happy to get a finish , they reckon that makes Tain look like tarmac track .
so after 3 hrs
Gavin johnston 112.  best off the boys So thats 1 for the old blokes .Ricky Mair 116. Morton Hannah 159. Scott gordon 165. Les Winthrop 168. Kevin Green 216. Stuart Boyce 636.lioyd Scott 723. Neil Flockhart 866.  there was 1200 on the start line so the boys done well .
